The Tower Of London

I was feeling a lot better today so we decided to get out & about and made our way to the Tower Of London.

We caught the train and passed Battersea Power Station and I took a couple of snaps that sadly didn't come out too well.

Walked across London Bridge and found our way to the Tower. It was pretty busy, even though the weather was overcast. Waited in line to buy tickets for about 20 minutes and made our way directly to the crown jewels that Chris hadn't seen before. (No pictures allowed). Stood in line for 45 minutes to get a fleeting glimpse of all the royal jewellery. Chris wanted me to buy her a crown but I said none of them were good enough for her, so she missed out!

Here's a few pics.

Inside the Tower of London with Tower Bridge in the background.

A shot of some of the houses that people (presumably staff) still live in.

Me checking out where they used to drown traitors!

With my head tucked underneath my arm, I walked the bloody tower.

After leaving the tower we decided to take a short cut. We walked across Tower Bridge and of course got lost! I had mentioned to Chris that when I was a kid my dad used to take me to a cafe in the area somewhere called the Cat & Cucumber. Bugger me dead, as we walked around a corner there it was, closed for the day but still in business. I shed a tear. We then grabbed a taxi back to Caroline's suburb and had a COLD sausage roll and an Eccles cake at a Jamie Oliver outlet.
